Contacts

Coosa County Released Inmates is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, retrieve records, or change a roster entry. Use the official office that created the record for those tasks.

Coosa Jail Contacts

For a local jail release, start with the Coosa County Sheriff's Office and Jail Operations. The sheriff's current phone-tree note says 256-377-1803 is no longer in service and directs callers to 256-377-4922, with Jail Operations listed as option 2.

Coosa County Sheriff's Office / Coosa County Jail
296 School Street
PO Box 279
Rockford, AL 35136
Phone: 256-377-2211 or 256-377-4922
Fax: 256-377-2690
Email: office@coosaso.com or sheriff@coosacountyal.gov

Use the sheriff route for the Coosa County Jail / Coosa County Detention Facility, the official released roster, release-date confirmation, and local jail records that do not belong to ADOC or a court.

Coosa Court Contacts

Court records are often the next stop after a release, especially when a bond, court order, dismissal, sentence, warrant, or jail-credit issue is involved. The Circuit Clerk's Office has a public access computer for court-record information, and Alabama's Alacourt ACCESS portal also routes Coosa searches online.

Coosa County Courthouse / Circuit Clerk
9709 US Hwy 231
Rockford, AL 35136
Circuit Clerk: 256-377-4988
District Court: 256-377-4957
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

For online court access, use Alacourt ACCESS or the Coosa docket route. The office directory routes circuit criminal, district criminal, magistrate, and warrant questions through option 2.

ADOC Records

ADOC handles Alabama state-prison records. It is the correct source when a Coosa case resulted in a commitment to the Alabama Department of Corrections, not when the person was only booked and released from the county jail.

Alabama Department of Corrections Public Records
Email: public.records@doc.alabama.gov
Phone: 334-353-3883
Hand delivery: 301 South Ripley Street, Montgomery, AL 36104
Mail: PO Box 301501, Montgomery, AL 36130-1501

ADOC's inmate search uses AIS numbers and name fields. ADOC public-records requests use Form 23-A and the current non-refundable $20.00 processing fee described in ADOC records materials.

Ashland Supervision Office

Coosa County parole and probation matters are served through the Ashland Field Office of the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles. This is the local supervision contact when a released ADOC inmate is reporting in the Coosa area.

State of Alabama Probation and Parole, Ashland Field Office
41771 Highway 77 North, Suite 1
Ashland, AL 36251
Phone: 256.970.1325
Fax: 256.342.0747
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; closed state and federal holidays

Statewide parole and probation information is available through the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles.

VNS And VINELink

Alabama has both VINELink and the Alabama Victim Notification System. VNS is limited to people convicted in Alabama and sentenced to ADOC custody. For pretrial Coosa County jail matters, VNS directs people to the sheriff in the county where the crime occurred.

VNS questions may be sent to Victims@AlabamaAG.gov or 800.626.7676. The VNS FAQ explains notification types and release-date fields. The main VINELink portal is the broader VINE entry point.

Federal And ICE Routing

If a Coosa jail release was actually a transfer to federal or immigration custody, the county roster may only confirm that the person left local custody. The next office depends on the federal custody type.

Where To Look First

The right source depends on the record type. Use the home page for the full Coosa released-inmate path and records request overview. Use parole / probation for supervision, released last 24 hours for recent local releases, inmate release date for scheduled ADOC dates, and VINELink release check for notification options. For the active local facility, use the Coosa County Jail / Coosa County Detention Facility page listed in the footer.
