Coosa County VINELink Coverage
VINELink is the public-facing route for VINE custody-status information and custody-change notifications where a state or agency supplies data. Alabama has an Alabama VINELink state page and the main VINELink portal. The VINELink mobile app listing says VINE provides offender custody-status information from participating law-enforcement agencies, with data availability determined by agency.
That last phrase is important for Coosa County. VINELink is not a replacement for the Coosa County Sheriff's released roster. If the person was booked into the Coosa County Jail before trial, the release check starts with the local released roster, the sheriff phone tree, and court records. If the person was convicted in Alabama and sentenced to ADOC custody, Alabama VNS and VINELink may add release, supervision, hearing, or custody-change notifications.

For a broad released-person search, use Coosa County released inmates records first. VINELink is strongest when the user has a specific person and wants custody-status alerts or a state notification record tied to that person.
One-Person VINELink Workflow

No-result searches need special care. The person may be outside VINE coverage, listed with a different spelling, in a nonparticipating data source, already transferred, in federal pretrial custody, or in a record category that VINE does not expose. For a Coosa County jail-only case, the sheriff and Coosa Circuit Clerk are usually more direct than a notification portal.

VINELink and VNS should not be described as criminal-history or court-file systems. They do not replace the Coosa Circuit Clerk for disposition, sentence, warrant, case action summary, or probation-order records.
Register Coosa County Release Alerts

- Open the person record in VINELink, or create/login to Alabama VNS if the person is an ADOC-sentenced offender covered by VNS.
- Select the action to get notified or register for notifications.
- Choose the notification methods offered for that record. Use methods the person registering can keep current.
- Enter contact details and complete any confirmation code, account, or PIN process exactly as prompted on the screen.
- Save or confirm the registration and update contact details if phone numbers, email addresses, or mailing addresses change.
- Treat the alert as notice of a possible custody-status change, then verify the release with the sheriff, ADOC, court, BOP, ICE, or USMS as custody type requires.
The VNS login page repeats the Alabama VNS limit and provides account creation access. It is relevant for ADOC-sentenced notification registration, but it is not the first source for a pretrial Coosa County Jail case.
Alabama VNS for Coosa Releases
Alabama has a separate state VNS layer in addition to VINELink. The Alabama Victim Notification System states that it is only for offenders convicted in Alabama and sentenced to prison or ADOC custody. It also directs pretrial matters to the sheriff in the county where the crime occurred. That creates a clean Coosa County distinction.
If the person was arrested and held pretrial at the Coosa County Jail, use the sheriff released roster, Jail Operations, and court record. VINELink Release Check Limits
VINELink is an alert and status tool, not a certified release-record office. It may lag behind jail processing, court orders, transfers, or agency updates. Use it with the official custody source, not by itself.
Federal custody is a separate path. A person in BOP custody should be checked through the BOP inmate locator, where BOP explains that "Released" means the person is no longer in BOP custody. A person in federal pretrial custody may be under U.S. Marshals responsibility and may not be in the BOP locator yet. ICE ODLS is for current ICE custody and people in CBP custody for more than 48 hours; it is not a Coosa County release archive.
For Coosa County records, the strongest confirmation chain is local first for local custody and state first for state custody. Use the released roster and Jail Operations for Coosa jail release. Use ADOC and VNS for ADOC-sentenced release or supervision. Use the Coosa Circuit Clerk for disposition, sentence, probation, bond order, or warrant status. That is the best way to keep a VINELink alert tied to the official release record.
